Today I will share one of my primary writing secrets. My secret playlist with songs to set the mood and spark your inspiration today!
What is it exactly you are writing? Is it scary? (my favorite:) Is it uplifting? Try some Hans Zimmer. Is it action-packed? There are a plethora of action movie soundtracks on both Spotify and YouTube. To create the perfect score for your sentences, it is important to look at the content of your writing.

As well as free options via legacy sound or Free Music you can tune into. In the mood for some variety? Tune into I-Heart Radio’s free stations or Pandora.
After looking at the content of what you want to write, consider what feelings you associate with the project. This can be as simple as taking five minutes to brainstorm all the emotions you feel, just envisioning your project.
After discovering both your content and mood, it’s off to your favorite music streamer. Search for keywords on applications such as Spotify or YouTube. Or scour Youtube’s atmospheric videos for every mood.
If all else fails, consult my playlists. While they have a heavy leaning towards horror, mystery, and thriller. It can be the foundation you need to create your own!
P.S - Feel free to add songs to any number of my playlists if you feel it fits the mood.
Till next time.

Moodwriting music is _necessary_! I've been working on my book for several years now, but I've only recently begun compiling playlists fine-tuned (pun intended) to set the right backdrop for my creativity. Most of them are stubs at present, so I won't link them yet, but I intend to eventually have a collection of moodwriting playlists for specific types of scenes or different locations in my book, as well as a set of playlists corresponding to specific characters. I have the weird ability to write while lyrics are playing in the background though, so about half of the songs in my playlists might not work well if you need a singly soundtrack-based environment. . . //Jaidynn R.
